Ginger and Carrot Smoothie

Some of my favorite recipes are those that help the body in its natural detoxification processes and keep you satisfied with its protein and fiber ingredients. After all, looking healthy and strong on the outside only gets you so far if you’re not healthy on the inside! This beta-carotene-filled beverage will not only give your skin a beautiful hue on the outside, but also protect you from sun damage. Acting as a cell protector, beta-carotene will also boost your immune system during winter and help your eye health.

If you’re having one of those days when you need some extra lift or want a fresh start after eating foods that you don’t typically eat, go for two servings of this smoothie for a refreshing, light and protein filled breakfast!

Ingredients, 2 servings

  • 1 medium Gala Apple (cored and cut roughly into 1/-2 inch chunks. Don’t worry about cutting precisely, the pieces will be blended anyways!)
  • ½ cup Carrot Juice
  • ½ cup Cantaloupe, cubes
  • 1 cup plain non-dairy yogurt (Greek Yogurt works too)
  • 1 tsp ginger, fresh

Directions

Using a blender, mix the carrot juice, cantaloupe, and yogurt. Add in and thoroughly mix the apple slices and ginger. Pour into two glasses and enjoy!
